When you see these cars like this without the body, they look very simple. Building one today with the required safety features and everything else you need or want makes it much more costly and time consuming. When I see how little tubing was used for the roll cages and knowing that some were made from exhaust pipe makes me realize how lucky many drivers were to have lived through the more serious wrecks.

Ironic you would leave that comment with this car. This was Lear Mineheart's new and first car. He ran it unpainted a few times to make sure all's well. Once the "bugs" were out, he painted it. Next race, he flipped it, tore up the body, but the cage held!

I appreciate this site and all who contribute to it, but I want to make sure that credit is given where it is due. I have been credited with some of the photos on this site, and I want to make sure that this is rectified. I have supplied photos to this site and others like it but was not the actual photographer, although I did purchase the photos or supplied them from people who purchased them or took them with their own camera. When I supply photos I have taken, I will make it clear that I was the photographer. I do believe that many of the photos I have supplied were most likely Bob Bockover photos, but I also know that many of the photos of Grady Turner were taken by his family as is also the case with some of the Bob Purcell photos. My goal here is to make sure that I do not over step any moral or especially any legal boundaries. I try to be mindful of this issue and have been given permission to post for those who do not have access to some sites, so if you think I may have crossed any lines, please let me know as it is not my intention to take credit for pictures I did not take. Dave.

Dave, I appreciate your contributions and your credibility. On this site the only credit we are capable of recognizing is to the contributor, unless he has supplied the name of the photographer or owner of the photo or information and I try to credit every photo. I may miss some and I apologize. Most that have no credits are mine.
I have a small disclaimer on the "Front Gate" page that should cover any legalities. If we need to look into this matter further, I can only hope someone will guide us in that direction before we get into any legal trouble. I'm sure if we ever get called out for "using without permission", we can correct the situation by deletion.
If you feel I need to credit the Purcell or Turner photos, I will.
Thanks for your concern. We feel the same as we try to maintain a fair and accurate site.
Bob
