Mini Hardtop Build

These minis of Del Quinn's racer were built by Ray Skaines, a close friend of Del.
Submitted by Mike Haney.

Here we have husband and wife team cars from 1976.  Bill Smith's hardtop and Donna Smith's stocker.
These were built and submitted by Larry Burnett.
Thanks Larry, great job!
Tommy Thomson submitted some models of his own race cars.
Richard Plutt sent these minis of a couple Leroy Geving rides.  They are still under construction.  The orange sedan is the #5 Leroy drove in 1964 and a black coupe he drove a couple times.  Looking forward to the lettering!
Nice looking models Richard.
These minis were built by Sandy MacNab. These are replicas of hardtops raced at Ukiah, Lakeport and Santa Rosa.

Here are a couple mini hardtops I built back in the '60s.  The #72 is a replica of the real car Ken Gandy built and drove in 1961 and 1962.
The #1 was the car I was supposed to build and drive when I got old enough.  Never happened, but hey, the model won a lot of races!

1/24th scale hardtops from the past.
Actual paint and scheme of the real Gandy #72. Built and painted in the driveway along side the real car as it was being painted.
If I remember correctly, the paint was 1954 Studebaker Lavendar.
Ken with the real car. Too bad I didn't shoot it in color.
My version of my dream racer when a kid.
