IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING
I ran across these photos and thought maybe some of my visitors here might want to know who I follow on the NASCAR circuit. What does this have to do with Vallejo Hardtops? Well, how about the fact that I/we can't go to Vallejo anymore and some of us are far far away from the California dirt racing scene, so NASCAR on tv is our only fix. Believe me tho, if they would show dirt racing on tv that's where I would be!
In my earlier years of following NASCAR, I followed Lake Speed and Mark Martin. Their driving style and demeanor shadowed mine as they raced clean but still aggressive. I feel Mark is the champion never crowned. They both claim Christianity that is very important in my life.
Presently I follow Trevor Bayne and Kyle Larson. Trevor claims Christianity and seems to have the similar driving style I can relate to. Kyle is up-and-coming and has yet to prove himself, although his driving ability and maturity are apparent already. He is also a native Californian as I am, although I have resided in Idaho longer than I did in California. I hope both of these young guns continue to drive clean, smart and have successful careers. I pray their attitudes and actions don't let me down, but we need to keep in mind that nobody is perfect and that's why Jesus died on the cross redeeming for our sins.
I did meet Greg Biffle a few years ago. Real nice guy. Spent a few hours with a small crowd discussing any questions they asked. Signed a lot of memorabilia for everybody. He is a "local" boy, they say, as he is from Vancouver WA. I guess Spokane can claim him as local.
As close to excitment as I could get as they would not hand over the keys! The seat was very comfortable and better be for 500 miles at times. The head rest was from Mark Martin's car, so I got to exchange brain waves with him, thoughts of entering turn one at 200 mph while rubbing up against Jeff Gordon. Where's my helmet!
So there you have it, my NASCAR connection. I'd rather run dirt!
